How to setup Lotus iNotes Client android application account

Lotus iNotes Client Android application can be downloaded from google play store : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imail

To setup your account in Lotus iNotes Client android app, you will need below 3 things.

Username : Username you are currently using to check your emails
Password : Password for the above username
Server : Full hostname of your lotus notes email server. Please check below on how to find out the server name.

There are 2 ways to identify the server to be used in android Lotus iNotes Client applications.

Getting server name from web based application you are currently using.

If you are currently using web based application for checking the lotus notes email, then go to that website.  Login to it using your username and password (These credentials should be used in android application).

When the home page or inbox is opened for your web based application, copy the url from the address bar. Lets assume your url is something like below.

https://mail123.mycompany.com/mail/mail12/XXXXXXX.nsf/inotes/mail/

From this url only take hostname while is : mail123.mycompany.com (mail123 is dummy name here and mycompany.com should be your company domain like mycompany.org, mycompany.br, mycompany.se etc..) and use this as the server name in android application.

Getting server name from lotus notes desktop application.

If you are currently using lotus notes desktop application then open it.

Go to File menu → Locations → Manage Locations .

This will display dialog box containing all the configured locations. Select location you are currently using (most probably it should be named ‘Online’) . And click on Edit.

It will display location details dialog box. Go to the “Servers” tab.  Get the server name from “Host/mail server” field.

If that server name looks like : “mail123.mycompany.com” then you can use this value in server name in android application. (mail123 is dummy name and mycompany.com should be your company domain like mycompany.org, mycompany.br, mycompany.se etc..)

But if that server name looks like : “mail123/mycompany”, then you can not use it directly in android application.
You have to convert it to the full hostname. The above value should be converted to full host name as : “mail123.mycompany.com” (mycompany.com is your company domain name. it can be anything like mycompany.org , mycompany.br, mycompany.se etc..) and you have to use name like this in android application.
